A specialist E-4 is one of the most common ranks held in the U.S. Army and is the highest rank for junior enlisted recruits. Which military branch pays the best

When it comes to your basic pay, the military branches are all the same. A look at military pay charts shows that military pay is based on a pay grade, or rank, and years of service. In terms of your base pay, there is no fundamental advantage to opting for one branch of service over another.

You can enlist as an E4 with a college degree. As has been previously stated, the normal E4 rank in the Army is a Specialist, Corporal is also an E4, but that is an NCO rank. That would come later and generally only for specific MOS's.

Can an E-7 be reduced in rank : Be aware, another option for the command is to send a minor issue to Summary Court-Martial. At a Summary Court-Martial and E-7 can be reduced. Most commands and JAG attorneys are equally in the dark about this. Most JAG Officers will tell commanders that this is not an option.
